Emergency Veterinary Website Design
My client had a mission to open her own vet hospital, partner with the local veterinary community, and create an environment where pets and pet owners alike felt safe and taken care of.
My Role
Website Designer who created a roadmap to manage client timelines and expectations, and used stakeholder interviews to determine their target market and business outcomes.
Project Goals
An emerging emergency veterinary hospital needed a web presence. Not only that, they needed to stand out from the competition to ensure their success. The outcomes of this website was to
- Make it simple to contact hospital in an emergency
- Create a patient hub where clients find forms, check on pets, and research payment options
- Referring veterinarians should be able to join the hospital network, and learn about the services provided
Make it simple to contact hospital in an emergency
- Assume majority of audience would be finding an emergency hospital on mobile
- See that their next step should be to drive directly to the hospital or call
- Action upon those options by pulling up the map on mobile and using the call action
- Find and fill out the intake form on the way to the hospital or while in triage
Create a patient hub where clients find forms, check on pets, and research payment options
- Display two of the hospital's payment partners and a way to apply
- A quick scroll down reveals a portal to log into the clinic cameras
- If needed, a form library exists where forms can be found and filled out easily
Referring veterinarians should be able to join the hospital network and learn about the services provided
- Local veterinarians can learn more about the member hospital network, and request more information or join whenever they’re ready
- Hospital services under each department are listed
Project Outcome
To be successful, the hospital needed clients to find them in an emergency. But the key to their long-term success is relationships in the community. This website showed seamless conversions as soon as they opened, making it easy for pet parents to find the hospital and community veterinarians to refer their patients. As a measure of success, this website was launched shortly before a respiratory illness swept the community. The decisions made while designing this website helped people get the help they needed for their pets.
